Potty Training and Fun with Cousins!

This definitely deserves it's own post, but we'll do another later. Miss Elsie Rae is potty trained!! We are so very proud of her. We started on Thursday and she caught on really quick. in the last couple days she only had ONE accident, yesterday not a one! WHY didn't I do this sooner!? ;) She is doing a great job. She has a little potty, and the only problem is, she is terrified to sit on the big potty. Even when I put her little seat cover over the big seat. So I'm not sure how we are going to a public place yet... We can't carry the little potty everywhere. So when we get over this hurdle, we'll be golden. (With potty training anyway :-)


We went to a parade on Saturday with all the cousins. Elsie just loved it.


Afterward we walked to a little aquarium. Elsie thought the "baby" fish (minnows) were sooo cute. ;)

We stopped at cousin Ava and Brendan's house for a little barbecue after the parade. Cousin Ava held Samuel for the first time. She did a great job!


We put on Samuel's pajamas before we left, but Samuel was NOT ready for bed when we got home, after a long nap in the car!

Catching Butterflies

It was such a beautiful day yesterday. Here's Elsie all ready to catch butterflies with her Ava doll.

"That's not a butterfly Elsie Rae!" Instead she came to me and said "Mommy so happy! Elsie Rae pick flower for Mommy!"

Doctor's Visit

Samuel had his four month check-up a couple days ago and here are his stats. He weighs 16 pounds and 13 1/2 ounces, and he is 25 3/8 inches tall. 75th percentile for both. What a big boy! He did a great job at the doctor's. Elsie also had to go and have her blood drawn for her lead test. I delegated that task to Daddy! I can barely stand to see them get shots! But according to Daddy, she did awesome. The nurses were really quick, and Elsie was happy the second that band aid hit her arm. She was very proud to tell me about it and show me her wounded arm! ;)

*Sorry Samuel, I couldn't resist putting you in this little hat and sweater just once! Cousin Brendan used to wear it too, if that makes you feel any better. ;)


Elsie Rae in sheer, utter amazement after just realizing both her AND Sam were wearing blue jeans. ;) Wow... it must be fun to be one!

Oh, by the way, we are in the process of listing our house for sale, and have been just SWAMPED getting things ready (big procrastinators), hence the sporadic blog posts.

Tea and Cake

Samuel's getting so big! Tomorrow he goes for his four month check-up. I'm anxious to see what he weighs and how tall he's gotten.


Elsie just loves it that Samuel can hold onto things now. This evening she pretended to make tea and cake, and shared it with him. Of course he loved the attention too.

Elsie sure loves that little brother of hers, and Samuel adores that big sister! Grandma D. let Elsie borrow a jumper that her Aunts Sara, Keely and Courtney used to wear! That's whys she likes it so much! ;)

A Walk to the Park

Well I finally went to the doctors because I've been running a fever, and now I am starting to feel better. It turns out I have bronchitis and an ear infection. Hopefully Samuels's cold will stay mild, and Elsie and "Daddy" will stay lucky! Here are the kiddos a few days ago anticipating going for a walk.


Samuel tried out the swings for the very first time. Obviously we didn't push him high at all!
